Wow it is hard to believe that we have already owned the house for 30 days. When we got out of the van and started walking towards the door, we noticed that some of the black tar paper we had put on the roof was laying in the grass. :( But it did seem like the tarps were still on the roof. The first thing on the to do list today, was to walk around and see if there was water anywhere. It had rained the night before. But we didn't see any signs of leaking. So we went on up the the roof. One part of the tarp was loose and the black tar paper had ripped off in a couple of places. So now we had to find some more boards and try to get the tarps secured again. We found a couple more boards laying around and carried them up to the roof. Once we got everything nailed down again, it looked as if it might stay in place and hopefully keep any rain out until we can finish the roof.
Then we did a bit of exploring. There are signs all over the house that there have been some changes. We are still trying to see what things might have actually looked like before. We also went around measuring some of the doors. My brother has some old doors from his house that we might use to replace some of the "new" doors in our house. But we have to check out what the sizes are.
Well, by this time it was already time to head back to Hickman and get the kids into bed. These evening work days go by so fast, it hardly seems like we get anything finished.
